Do you know of someone who is looking to be an entrepreneur? Or, are you someone aged between 18 and 30 years old, who wants to learn the basics of how to be a young entrepreneur?

The ‘Horsham Young Entrepreneurs’ programme, delivered by Digital Islands, provides aspiring young entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 30 years old with a range of free online resources and expert one-to-one support to assist them in turning their dream of starting a business into an actionable plan.

Programme content

Here is what our Young Entrepreneurs can expect from the programme:

1. Behavioural Assessment – this is completed online. The report generated after the assessment is confidential and only shared with you, the person completing the assessment. It is entirely for your benefit and the assessment is merely a tool to assist you in understanding yourself better.
2. Business Competency Assessment – this is also completed online. This self-assessment is designed to help you understand the skills and competencies that are valuable when running a business. A team of experienced businesspeople prepared the report.
3. Market research videos. You are encouraged to watch a series of videos and hopefully use the ideas to support your research when putting together your business plan.
4. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) business plan chatbot. As part of this project, an interface with a chatbot has been created that will ask you a series of questions about your business and provide ideas, feedback, and guidance. After about 15 questions it will generate a summary, which you can use as a starting point for your draft business plan.
5. One-to-One Support. It is not expected that you have a perfect business plan, so Digital Islands’ experts will work with you to help improve it. It must remain your plan, your idea, and your business; Digital Islands are here to help you make it happen.

Eligibility requirements

To take part in the Horsham Young Entrepreneurs Programme you must:

• Be aged between 18 and 30 years old.
• Be a Horsham District resident.
• Have a business idea.

To take part:

1. Express your interest by filling out this simple online form. If needed, book a 30-minute discovery call with Gavin of Digital Islands to find out more about the programme before applying.
2. Participants will then be invited to sign up to the West Sussex Business Hub for free and sent an exclusive invite to join a private Horsham Young Entrepreneurs group, where they can access online resources, learning materials and any relevant communications and updates on the programme of support.
