Published: 23 Dec 2021

A Nature Recovery Award has been established by Wilder Horsham District to support practical schemes to help develop biodiversity and wildlife networks.

Applications open on 3 January 2022.

Wilder Horsham District is a unique and innovative five-year partnership between Sussex Wildlife Trust and Horsham District Council.  It has been established in response to the urgent pressures on biodiversity and supports our objectives to become a Wilder Horsham District.

A Nature Recovery Award has been established by Wilder Horsham District to support landowners and community groups wishing to implement practical schemes to expand and improve networks for wildlife across the Horsham District landscape.

Three community project groups have so far received this award with more soon to be announced. The first three winners were:

  • Friends of Glebe Field, Thakeham (pictured here)
  • The Society of St. Columba, Wiston
  • Brooks Field Farm, Woodmancote

These are a showcase for the wide variety of activities that can be achieved to improve land for nature and for people.
