A national week of events celebrating how communities are taking action to tackle climate change, and raising the profile of climate change action.
The Great Big Green Week will be the largest event for climate and nature ever seen in the UK. Events are planned across the country when Great Big Green Week community hubs will celebrate local activity and raise the profile of climate change action.
Locally, events are taking place across the Horsham District including:
Saturday 18 September, 10am-12.30pm
Eco Station at Pulborough Village Market, Swan View, Pulborough
Visit the new Inspiration Eco Station at Pulborough's Village Market to find displays and conversations around ways to reduce your carbon footprints through waste prevention, recycling, repairing, reuse, refilling, food choices, green energy, saving energy through eco homes and growing your own.

The Great Big Green Week in Henfield
Sustainable Henfield 2030, part of the Henfield Community Partnership, are running several events during Great Big Green Week, including:
- - a ‘Give Your Stuff Away Day’
- - a showing of the film 2040 and the future we could create if we embraced the best climate solutions available.
- - a presentation from the President of Sussex Wildlife Trust on the Decade of Nature Restoration
- - an evening tour at Woods Mill,
- - a display of electric vehicles, and more.

Horsham Normandy's Great Big Green Week display
Horsham Park and Horsham Library
Horsham Normandy WI will be decorating their tree and the surrounding area in Horsham Park with pom pom creatures, highlighting the need for action on climate change. Look out for their display too in Horsham Library with a specially knitted scarf showing the changes in average temperatures in the UK over the past 100 years.

Launching a new Sussex Green Hub in Horsham
United Reformed Church, 45 Springfield Rd, Horsham
A new Sussex Green Hub launches in Horsham in time for the Great Big Green Week. Open on the last Saturday of every month from 10am-4pm, the hub offers a range of environmental support including a repair service, a Community Fridge, energy saving and recycling advice, an eco refill service, advice on sustainable living, a book exchange and a cafe, all helping you to save money and the planet.

Horsham's Bright New Roadshow
Look out for a Bright New Roadshow coming into the Bishopric offering advice and information on a range of reuse and recycling opportunities such as TerraCycle.

A Horsham District Council Showcase
The Bishopric, Horsham
As part of the Bright New Roadshow Horsham District Council will be showcasing some of their environmental initiatives including; the Wilder Horsham District project with the Sussex Wildlife Trust, the Community Climate Fund, advice on a household energy efficiency scheme and the current reuse trials for batteries, textiles and electricals, as well as the recently launched Reuse Hub.

Horsham Repair Café reopens
United Reformed Church, Horsham
The Horsham Repair Cafe will be re-opening their doors this weekend. Bring any small electrical item that doesn’t work to the café and the team there will do their best to mend it. The Repair Cafe can also do some laptop and computer repairs (but not mobile phones) and have a team of sewing volunteers to help you mend a range of clothing items. To ensure that people are seen on time, the Repair Cafe is now offering repairs by appointment. Please visit their website to book a slot.
