Horsham District residents are encouraged to check if they are eligible to receive a new grant that helps householders be warmer in their homes, lower their carbon emissions, and save money on their fuel bills.

Under the Government funded Green Homes Grant, delivered by Warmworks on behalf of Horsham District Council, eligible householders can apply to receive improvements to increase the energy efficiency of their homes and so keep their homes warm, decrease their bills, as well as decrease their home’s impact on the environment.

The Green Homes Grant scheme is open to homeowners, private tenants and people in social rented accommodation, where the home has a low energy rating and a low annual income. Landlords will be required to make a contribution towards the costs of works.

The scheme offers a wide range of insulation options and renewable heating technologies and Warmworks will arrange a survey in the homes of eligible householders to agree what work will be carried out.

A local accredited and registered sub-contractor team then completes the installation of the agreed heating and energy-efficiency measures. Finally, an independent inspection assesses the completed work against rigorous quality standards.

Where required, Warmworks will also arrange for a full annual service to be completed 12 months later.
