Helping local businesses become greener

Thanks to the funding we have received from the Rural England Prosperity Fund, we have been able to work with businesses to help them to support new, sustainable projects in a rural location which will also boost the local economy.

For example, one successful applicant was Jacob’s Bagels based near Pulborough who used grant funding to support the installation of solar panels to power their electrical appliances in the bakery. So far they have realised a reduction of 1535.5kg in their carbon emissions.

Green LEAP small business fund

Our Green LEAP grant scheme supports start-up and small business projects which seek to combat climate change. Businesses can access grants of up to £5,000 for climate-friendly projects. Our webpage also includes a short guidance video on creating a climate-friendly business plan which is required as part of the application process.

The second round of Green LEAP funding opens to applications on Monday 3 June 2024 and will close on Monday 1 July 2024, or earlier if funding is spent. Businesses will be notified regarding the outcome of their application within six weeks of submission.
