Meet the Community Link team
The Community Link Team
We have many advisers who love getting out to meet and help people in the community, and when they visit you at home they’ll always be wearing their Horsham District Council Community Link team uniform and carrying their council ID badge.
Lisa Brown
Team Leader
“This year has seen my job role change to Team Leader. I am lucky
to lead such a wonderful team of hard-working staff, who are all
so dedicated to providing a very high level of service. I am looking
forward to the next year to see Community Link become fully digital,
and continuing to support the team who are working hard to bring
new opportunities to future proof our service.
One of the highlights of my year has been our user forum. It is lovely
to see so many of our service users in one place and to hear your
experiences and ideas for our service. I hope this year even more of
you will join us, it’s always a good excuse to have coffee and cake!”
Kerry Killner
Quality & Contracts Officer
"I have been with the team over 8 years and I’m passionate about
exploring new ideas to drive the service forwards. We are currently
in the middle of switching our lifeline units from analogue to digital
and I really like being out and about seeing everyone.
Outside of work I enjoy playing bass with my band and I have a new Border Collie puppy and 2 house rabbits to keep me busy."
Philip Mockett
Projects & Partnership Officer
“I have enjoyed another busy year on the Community Link
Team. I have been working hard linking in with many health care
professionals and other organisations which has resulted in more
referrals into our service which has been great.
I particularly enjoy delivering presentations on our service to
community groups, to show people the technology we can provide
to keep them safe, and am always open for invitations to do this.
I have also been pleased that we are now able to offer a GPS
tracking device in the form of a watch called the Mind Me. I had taken
part in many trials of other GPS watches and chose the Mind Me
for its size, quality, and simplicity. It’s great we have now added this
amazing piece of technology to our service”
Cathie Connolly
Community Link Adviser
“I can’t believe how quickly the last year has gone but I have
enjoyed it and the exciting continuation of the upgrade to our digital
service and the increase in technology that we can offer. I love
being out and about meeting so many of you, your families, and
pets as you join our service but also meeting many more who I had
maybe spoken to but not visited before as we continue to replace
units for people who have been with us for that bit longer.”
Chris Riches
Community Link Adviser
“2023 in the Community Link Team, has flown by. Working in
such a dedicated team, who really care about providing the best
experience to our service users, is infectious, so for me the past
year has proved to be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience
and I truly hope that the satisfaction I feel comes across in my
interactions with our service users.
It’s been a pleasure speaking to and meeting with so many of
the interesting characters from within our service user community.
The constantly evolving technology means we can improve the
products offered to our servicer users and I look forward learning
about these and installing them during 2024.”
Nigel Powell
Community Link Adviser (Administration)
Nigel has been with the Community Link team for over 2 years now, and is quite often the first person you speak to when contacting the team. He is responsible for booking our appointments and all aspects of technical housekeeping.

“I enjoy working with such a caring and committed team - there is
such excitement when one of us finds exactly the right solution for
one our service users. Our frontline team have such a passion for
helping people in a practical way, and the supporting people in our
team and in Customer Services share that desire to help. It is a joy
to come to work.”
Vanessa Perriton

Vanessa is new to the team, and has recently started carrying out visits to install the latest technology enabled care.
She is looking forward to visiting our service users.
