Sussex Sounds Festival

The Sussex Sounds Festival celebrates our fantastic local music talent. On Sunday 31 August four stages will be set up across Horsham town centre for the free event and local bands and solo artists have performance slots from 11-6pm.
Carfax stage line-up
The following bands and cover artists will perform on the Carfax bandstand.
The Jacquie Young band
11.00 - 12.00
The 5 piece band are led by the bluesy female vocals of Jacquie Young, and the soaring electric blues guitar of Graham Cleveland. Together the band brings a great variety of music to the show, including Blues, Soft Rock, Americana and many other popular songs.

Playback Club
12.15-13.15
A female-fronted Indie/Rock Covers brand bringing the very best rock pop and indie throwback hits.

Hurly Burly
13.30-14.30
Brighton based indie folk group. Original Indie Folk laced with Ska & Punk.

Old Green Boot Band
14.45-15.45
A 4 piece old-school blues and rhythm & blues band based in Billingshurst.

Scaramouche
16.00-17.00
A Sussex based covers band playing classics from the last six decades.

RetroTonic
17.15-18.15
We play tunes from 1950s / 60s / 70s / 80s / 90s across all types of genres using an acoustic and electric guitar, saxophone and 3-part harmonies.

The following duos will perform on our pop-up stage in West Street.

We are a very experienced cabaret duo, light jazz pop, ballads blues. We are keyboards, vocals, violin.

Lande

Lande are a voice and piano duo based in the South Downs who mostly enjoy playing chilled ballads – if it wasn't a ballad to begin with, it will be by the time they have finished with it.

Quiet Storm Duo
15.10-15.55
Piano and vocal duo performing a selection of pop and soul classics.

Piries Place line-up
The following DJs will be playing on our pop-up stage in Piries Place.

Luke Bloomfield

High energy, iconic tunes, and great vibes.

Solo acoustic guitarist and vocalist.

Songwriter Ian Roland, writes and performs original Roots-Pop music.

Karen Whittingham

Soulful female vocalist with smooth, timeless vocals reminiscent of Karen Carpenter, with a touch of Michael Bublé’s sophistication.

Jay Butler

Singer and guitar player.

Lucy Diamondz

Jazz and modern singer.

Singer and guitarist playing Indie, Ska and punk.
