Growing Your Teenager course

Growing Your Teenager is a free course for parents living in the Horsham District with children that are starting secondary school in September 2025.
Delivered with support from Sussex Police and the West Sussex County Council Dedicated Schools Team, the course aims to help parents understand some of the challenges the teenage years present; and provide some useful tips and ideas to help you and your child navigate what can be a challenging time of life.
There are three evening sessions exploring:
- effective communication
- boundary setting
- understanding the teenage brain
- anxiety
- self esteem
Sessions will also include information around how to keep your young person safe online and in the community.

“It was brilliant. It was extremely reassuring to know there are local professional services out there to support parents and teens. Getting advice on communication with them and being aware of the main dangers to look out for going forward was really good. Really worthwhile, thank you.”
