Business Crime Reduction Partnership
The newly formed Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) for Horsham District will see the council, local businesses and the police working together to keep our streets and communities safer for everyone, and our town centres thriving.
The scheme is suitable for all types of business, whether part of a large chain or a small independent, and is suitable for shops, pubs, leisure centres and any venue that may be experiencing anti-social behaviour. Members of the existing Pubwatch and Shopwatch schemes will also be joining the BCRP to allow for a coordinated approach to crime and ASB.
The BCRP will use DISC – a secure app for information-sharing and reporting business crime and anti-social behaviour – that is already used in over 550 towns and city centres nationwide. DISC can be used on mobile phones and includes instant messaging. It enables businesses to upload information, incidents, CCTV Images and photos, and acts as a platform to alert others to offenders and issues as well as swift direct crime reporting to the police. Access to DISC will be free for BCRP members for three years.
The BCRP and Disc are fully compliant with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR, and have a police Information Sharing Agreement in place. The BCRP is the Data Controller and has registered with the Information Commissioners Office (https://ico.org.uk/ESDWebPages/Entry/ZB569845).
