Freedom of Information requests

What happens when you submit an FOI Request?

When you submit a Freedom of Information Request under the Freedom of Information Act (2000) or Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) 2004, you will get an acknowledgement email as soon as the request has been logged, along with a reference number so that the FOI team log any internal correspondence.

  • FOI and EIR requests will be answered within twenty working days.
  • FOI requests may require an extension if we are considering the Public Interest Test
  • EIR requests may also require an extension of time to 40 working days where the complexity and volume of the information requested means that it is impracticable either to comply with the request within the earlier period or to make a decision to refuse to do so.

If you have any queries about this request please email foi@horsham.gov.uk quoting the reference number in the subject line of this email
