New-build local connection housing
We are committed to sustaining rural communities and helping households who live or work in the parish to stay in the area they are connected to.
Our local connection housing schemes allow residents with a local connection to register for housing in a new-build development without having to demonstrate a housing need.
Current available schemes
“Age Criteria” an individual who is at least 55 years of age at the time a nomination is made and, where two or more individuals are being nominated for a joint tenancy of an Affordable Rent unit, the age criteria shall be satisfied provided that at least one individual is at least 55 years of age.
“Local Connection” means in relation to an individual, that such individual
- Immediately before taking up occupation of a Rented Unit had his/her only or principal home in the Parish of Slinfold for a continuous period of not less than two years.
- A member of his/her household has a parent, child, adult child, brother, or sister whose only or principal home is and has been for a continuous period of not less than two years in the Parish of Slinfold and he/she wishes to be near that relative
OR
- Is and has been permanently employed in the Parish of Slinfold for a continuous period of not less than two years.
Provided that where no person or insufficient persons can be identified as having a connection with the Parish of Slinfold as outlined above and in accordance with the S106 agreement then the District of Horsham shall be substituted for the Parish of Slinfold.

Once the houses in the scheme have been allocated and if you have not been successful, your application will be removed from our Housing Register.
