Buy Local campaign to support district businesses
15 Oct 2020
Residents across the Horsham District are being encouraged to think local and buy local where they possibly can in an effort to support local businesses.
The Buy Local campaign has been developed by Horsham District Council to help local businesses who have continued to work tirelessly throughout the lockdown to deliver vital services.
Businesses will be offered a variety of marketing materials and business support to increase both footfall and online business across the District.
The campaign will also highlight how local businesses have adapted to support public health guidelines, as well as reassure communities that town centres have reopened safely with enhanced safety measures in place.
Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for the Local Economy Paul Clarke explained:
“A large proportion of every pound spent with a local business is re-spent locally, multiplying the local benefit of every purchase.
Now with Christmas just around the corner I urge all residents to look to their local independent businesses for at least a proportion their purchases, making their money work harder for the local economy.
“Look out for our forthcoming campaigns encouraging you to ‘Buy Local’ just that bit more than usual to help our town centres and communities thrive.”

Chair of the Horsham BID Willie Hamilton added:
Buy Local is a great idea. The time is now right to find our town and village centre community spirit again after the isolation of lockdown.
“Shopping is no longer just about going to the shops, it is about socialising and showing support for our communities.”
