Accolade for Council’s Community Link service

Horsham District Council’s Community Link service has received an outstanding rating in its recent Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Quality Standards Audit, proving that it offers the very best in health and social care provision for the residents of the Horsham District.  The audit was carried out by UKAS accredited auditors from the TSA, the national body for TEC services.

The Community Link team use a broad range of TEC products with their clients such as Lifeline units including fall detectors, bed occupancy sensors and linked smoke detectors, GPS trackers which particularly benefit those living with dementia, and immersive virtual reality experiences, benefitting those with long term conditions.

As part of the Council’s Environmental Health and Licensing Department, the Community Link team provide a support, assessment and installation service to disabled and vulnerable people of all age groups within Horsham District. They have been serving the local community since 1986 and have over 1,700 customers.

Commenting on the service the auditor said:

The Community Link team provide a great service which puts the customer and their individual needs very much at the heart of everything they do.”

Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Community Matters and Wellbeing Cllr Tricia Youtan said:

I am very proud that our community TEC services, which make such a huge difference to many residents’ lives have been rated so highly in this annual audit.

This rating shows that the quality of their service delivery, the levels of safety they adhere to and the innovative approach the team have to the services they offer are second to none.

Their recognition is very much deserved.
