Gay Pride 50th anniversary is marked in Horsham

The Gay Pride flag was raised for the first time in Horsham today (28 June) in advance of the 50th anniversary of the first Gay Pride rally.

The flag was raised at Park House in Horsham by Horsham District Council Chairman Cllr Kate Rowbottom and Cabinet Member for Community Matters Cllr Liz Kitchen.

On July 1 2022, veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and allies will retrace the route of the UK’s first Pride March back in 1972.
