•	Officials and crowds gather to hear The proclamation

The local Proclamation of King Charles III was made by Horsham District Council Chairman Cllr Kate Rowbottom in Horsham at the Carfax Bandstand on Sunday 11 September at 3pm.

After The Proclamation was made the National Anthem was sung.

Crowds and officials gathered in the Carfax to observe the historic occasion.

In line with official protocol, the initial Proclamation of King Charles III was held on Saturday 10 September at 11am at St James’s Palace in London and then ‘cascaded’ throughout the UK.

On behalf of the County, the West Sussex County Council Chairman read The Proclamation at 1pm on Sunday 11 September at County Hall Chichester.

Members of the public are welcomed to lay floral tributes as a mark of respect in the Garden of Remembrance at St Mary’s Church in the Causeway, Horsham. A steward will receive floral tributes at the front of the church and place them on behalf of the public.
