Digital annual parking discs

Horsham District Council is set to introduce digital annual parking discs across more of the District’s towns and villages from 1 July 2024.

The digital annual parking discs are more convenient and flexible for users  by allowing them to manage their parking needs at any time.

Additionally, they reduce the reliance on paper and plastic and are therefore more sustainable for the environment.

For a fixed price of £20, the Annual Parking Disc will allow users to park in 12 town and village car parks for up to a maximum of four hours, depending on the maximum stay of the car park.

Digital parking discs offer a modern solution to managing parking time without the need for physical discs. Customers can easily activate the virtual disc and monitor their parking time through a smartphone app or a dedicated website, eliminating the hassle of displaying and maintaining traditional paper discs.

One of the key advantages of the digital parking disc is its flexibility in renewal. Unlike the physical version, which renews annually every July, the virtual disc remains valid for 12 consecutive months from the date of purchase.

Commenting on the initiative, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Finance Cllr Mark Baynham said. "We are really pleased to introduce digital parking discs in more car parks as part of our ongoing efforts to improve customer experience and promote environmental responsibility.

The annual discs provide excellent value for money and this initiative aligns with our overall commitment to embrace innovative solutions that benefit both our residents and the environment.

Residents and visitors can enjoy the benefits of digital parking discs by downloading the MiPermit app or visiting the HDC website for registration instructions.
