Markets of Horsham

Keep an eye out for new branding promoting ‘Markets of Horsham’ from this June, which seeks to celebrate Horsham town centre’s three thriving markets and the variety of stalls and vibrancy they bring to Horsham. Markets of Horsham form part of Horsham District Council’s ‘Buy Local’ campaign and its continued support for markets across the District.

Horsham town’s three markets each have a unique and diverse offer for visitors, consisting of Carfax Local Market, West Street Entrepreneurs Markets and Piries Place Vegan Market.

Carfax Local Market takes place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, often alongside music and entertainment creating a lively shopping experience.

Simon Teesdale of Food Rocks, who manages the Carfax Local Market, commented: “We are delighted to be part of the Markets of Horsham. Our market has a strong focus on high quality, locally produced food, drink, and goods, so a great opportunity to ‘Buy Local’.

"We are also always looking to add to the ethos and attractiveness of the market, having recently introduced a global artisan produce offer.”

Markets are an opportunity to discover new and interesting businesses. West Street Entrepreneurs Markets, for example, is attracting an array of different entrepreneurs to Horsham who can benefit from building their customer base, including those who may otherwise be web-based.

Market operator, Zac Coden of Coden Events, said: “Horsham is a wonderful market town to trade in, and we are pleased to offer a variety of different stalls at our markets for visitors. In addition to our weekly Saturday market on West Street, we run a weekly Thursday market focussed on antiques and collectibles and a monthly arts and crafts market the last Sunday of every month.”

Adding to Horsham’s offer in the Carfax and on West Street, Vegan Fest Horsham’s market brings a fabulous assembly of vegan produce and products to Piries Place on the last Saturday of each month, except December.

Helen Crabb of Vegan Fest Horsham commented: “We love running a monthly market in Horsham. Everyone from vegans to non-vegans are welcome to visit our range of great stalls selling plant-based food and eco-friendly products. Profits from pitch sales go to the local charity Holbrook Animal Rescue and Animals Asia.”

Rachel Noel of Your Horsham, the local Business Improvement District, added:

Horsham town centre is lucky to have three fantastic markets, each with their own unique and diverse offer.

“For those who want to start market trading, Horsham is a fantastic place to trade, with a supportive business community and beautiful surroundings. Our vibrant market scene complements the wonderful mix of retail, hospitality and service industries within the town centre meaning there is always something new and exciting to explore.

“Come to Horsham on a market day and discover our wonderful businesses!”
