After last year’s debut event, the Sussex Sounds Festival is making a welcome return to Horsham Town Centre with even more music and performances on Sunday 25 August from 11am to 6pm.
Venues across the whole of the town centre will play host to an array of local music talent in a series of free performances at the Sussex Sounds Festival which is brought to you by Horsham District Council.
The Sussex Sounds Festival celebrates the fantastic local acts who have taken part in the hugely popular Sussex Sounds performances throughout the summer in the town centre. These free events have contributed to the wonderful vibe across our town and markets every week.
The entertainment will start at 11am and will continue until 6pm with performances at The Carfax Bandstand, Piries Place, The Forum, West Street, and Market Square (by the historic Town Hall building, now Bills). There will also be an array of markets across the town for shopping, food and drink.
Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Green Spaces Cllr David Skipp commented: “It has been great to enjoy such a wealth of local talent performing at our Sussex Sounds events this summer and I am delighted that we are once again bringing them all together in one bumper day of entertainment for everyone in the community to enjoy.
“I would like to extend my thanks to the talented performers and many residents who have come along to enjoy the free music, dancing, and fantastic atmosphere in our markets over the summer.
The Festival will showcase many of these wonderful acts and I encourage everyone to come and enjoy this free community celebration.
The Carfax Bandstand stage will feature performances from Retro Tonic, The Jukebox 6, P43, The Starlites and Graffiti.
Piries Place will host Matt ‘The Busker’, Red Eye Zack, Saxman Gazz, Mailman, The Blue Moon Rose and Jamo.
There is a definite Blues vibe in The Forum with Sylvia Akagi and Peter Golden, The Jacquie Young Band, Hotpot and The Old Green Boot Band, along with Choro Bandido and Swingshift.
On West Street we are focussing on solo performers: Ian Roland, Taygan Paxton, Trevor Clawson, Jodie Munday, Jenna Hall and Jodie Lo.
In the Market Square you will find our busking spot where solo artists Stephen Leppard, Les Elvin, Will Jones, Karen Willingham, Larry Dnone and Ella Ridley will perform.
