Meadowside in Storrington is a well-loved local space of 4.6 acres at the base of the South Downs. It has a small play area for young children and a chalk stream fed from the South Downs. The stream is a unique and important habitat for brown trout and a wide range of other protected species.

Friends of Meadowside

We are grateful to the Friends of Meadowside who, with support from the Council’s wardens and funding from the Arun and Rother Connections project, have made great progress to enhance the site.

Community engagement will continue with, among other projects, an innovative ‘bin scheme’ helping to recycle valuable waste. Inspired by the Friends group, additional bins installed by the Council will be emptied by volunteers, ensuring the site remains as attractive as possible for all to enjoy.
