Air quality assessment and mitigation
The Air Quality emissions reduction guidance document aims to provide advice to developers and their consultants on how to address local air quality when making a planning application in Horsham District. This guidance forms part of the Horsham District Air Quality Action Plan.
The air quality assessment follows a three stage process:
- Determining the development type classification of the proposal
- Assessing and quantifying the impact on local air quality
- Determining the level of mitigation required by the proposal to make the scheme sustainable in air quality terms
The guidance document, which you can view and download below, sets out a range of locally specific measures to be used to minimise and/or offset the emissions from new development, and requires the cumulative impact of developments to be considered as part of the planning application process.
