Noise reports and noise assessments
The Planning Noise Advice Document aims to provide advice for developers and their consultants when making a planning application in East and West Sussex. The document seeks to complement the Noise Policy Aims set out in the Noise Policy Statement for England (2010), namely to:
- avoid significant adverse impacts on health and quality of life
- mitigate and minimise adverse impacts on health and quality of life
- where possible, contribute to the improvement of health and quality of life
We advise you to read the document below to find out about the principles of noise control, whether your plans require a noise report, and noise guidelines for the most common types of development.
