A Landscape Character Assessment is the process of identifying and describing variation in character of the landscape.
The Landscape Character Assessment document identifies and explains the unique combination of elements and features that make the Horsham District landscape distinctive by mapping and describing character types and areas. It also shows how the landscape is perceived, experienced and valued by people.

Supporting landscape character map
The Landscape Character Area map breaks up the Horsham District into specific geographical areas based on their character and is available to download. This supporting map can be used alongside the Landscape Character Assessment to reference specific areas within the assessment.
